Responsibilities:
Greeting patients and families with a warm and welcoming demeanor
Scheduling appointments and managing patient records
Collecting patient information and insurance details accurately
Collecting and verifying insurance information, as well as collecting patient payments when necessary.
Preparing required paperwork for exams.
Managing phone calls and inquiries in a professional manner
Coordinating with medical staff to ensure smooth patient flow
Maintaining cleanliness and organization at the front desk and waiting room area
Faxing needed paperwork to labs, imaging and referral offices
Importing outside records into the EMR
Monitoring vaccine temperature logs
Reviewing office supply inventory levels for ordering.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent
Previous experience in a medical office or customer service role preferred
Knowledge of medical terminology preferred
Knowledge of healthcare insurance procedures preferred
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks
Friendly and compassionate demeanor towards children and families
Proficient in using electronic medical records (EMR) systems
